Irix 6.2 Applications, May 1996
This CD contains products which supplement, or in some cases replace,
products on the two IRIX 6.2 CD's. In particular, this CD contains
versions of three products which replace those found on the IRIX 6.2
CD's: Netscape Navigator 2.01S, License Tools 2.1.1, and What's New
6.2, May 1996. This CD also contains Impressario 2.0 (7 related
products) and several patches for IRIX 6.2
Note: Packaged with your software is a separate sheet that
contains the Software License Agreement. This software is provided to
you solely under the terms and conditions of the Software License
Agreement. Please take a few moments to review the Agreement.
You should install IRIX 6.2 before installing any of products on this
CD. If you purchased an Indy machine after May 1996, it is likely that
much of this software has been pre-installed on your system, and will
be listed as 'same version' when you view the products in Software
Manager. (Other Silicon Graphics systems such as Indigo2, POWER Indigo2
and Indigo2 IMPACT do not have the software pre-installed. For a full
list of the software on your system, use Software Manager and click on
the "Manage Installed Software" button.)

patches all have release notes available. You can view the release

reviewing this README first.)

Notes about the products
-
The version of License Tools 2.1.1 on this CD is newer than the version
on the IRIX 6.2 first CD. A bug in the old 2.1 version can cause users
to lose NetLS nodelocked licenses from the file /var/netls/nodelock.
This scenario is especially common for users who have received licenses
within the past year, even if the user did not use License Manager to
install the new license. Silicon Graphics strongly recommends
that all customers upgrade to License Tools 2.1.1 from this CD to
avoid this problem.
-
The version of Netscape Navigator 2.01S on this CD is newer than the
version on the IRIX 6.2 second CD. The 2.01S version contains important
bug fixes including changes related to Java scripts, gopher URLs, and
security bug fixes.
